This is a very well-maintained (by a former Air Force mechanic) 40' single-engine trawler that is fuel-efficient. It has all the extra bells and whistles such as bow and stern thrusters for easy docking, stern camera, kitchen outdoor kitchen on the upper deck, enclosed fly bridge with extra seating, swim platform, forward and aft shore power hook-ups, a tub/shower combo in the head, dinghy, and more! Very fuel efficient: approx. 2-3 gallons per hour at cruise speed.

Once you enter the large sliding door, you will notice the entire vessel’s interior is trimmed in high-gloss cherrywood and features a very well kept teak and holly sole. The layout consists of a large main salon with the well appointed galley to starboard and a sleeper sofa to port. The dining area is forward, to port, opposite the lower helm, which has an easy to bow access door. There are large opening windows, ensuring plenty of light and cross breeze if you desire. Below is the owners queen berth forward with hanging lockers and en-suite access to the head. The guest quarters are to port under the dinette’s sole and has twin berths. Ascending the wide formed steps to the enclosed flybridge, you will not only find the upper helm that has a comfortable captain’s chair, but a surprising amount of usable space for entertaining which can easily be done with the summer kitchen that includes a large grill. All Eisenglass, canvas and upholstery are in excellent condition throughout.

Pros
Spacious Interior: The 400 Trawler features a roomy salon and well-designed accommodations that comfortably sleep several people, making it ideal for extended cruising.
Fuel Efficiency: With its displacement hull and efficient twin diesel engines, the vessel offers good fuel economy for long-range cruising.

Large Flybridge: The expansive flybridge offers excellent visibility and ample seating, perfect for socializing and navigation.
Generous Storage: Plenty of storage compartments and locker space make it convenient for carrying gear and provisions.
Versatile Layout: The boat’s layout includes a full galley, comfortable dinette, and private staterooms, accommodating both family cruises and overnight stays with ease.
Cons
Moderate Speed: The design prioritizes comfort and efficiency over speed, so cruising speeds are modest compared to faster powerboats.
Maintenance: As with many older trawlers, upkeep can be time-intensive, especially on mechanical systems and exterior varnish or gelcoat.
Limited Maneuverability: The displacement hull and size can make tight docking or handling in confined spaces more challenging, particularly for less experienced operators.
Interior Styling: Some may find the interior decor and finishes dated compared to more modern yachts, though this is subjective and can be updated.
Draft: The boat’s draft may limit access to very shallow waters, which is a consideration depending on cruising grounds.
