Summary
This CamCraft built passenger high speed passenger ferry was completely refit by Midship marine in 2017 / 2018 to new spec. The hull was stripped down to bare aluminum. Everything is the vessel was brand new including all the running gear, electronics, and even the seats. In the yard now (2025)
Hull & Fittings

The vessel's hull is protected by means of two courses of 6" split pipe type hull guards on the port and starboard sides and across the stern. The vessel is outfitted with a full complement of inflatable rubber fenders. Spray rails are fitted at the bow.


Deck fittings consist of the normal outfitting of bitts, kevels, and chocks for a vessel in this service and are as follows:


  • Centerline forward H-bitt
  • Port and starboard bow closed chocks
  • Two each port and starboard double bitts with horns
  • Two each port and starboard single bitts with horns
  • Ground tackle consists of a single Fortress, FX125, 125-lb, Danforth style anchor. The anchor rests on a stainless steel bow roller and is fitted with 10' of stainless steel chain.

HULL COMPARTMENTATION:
  • Bulkhead 22 to Frame 23 – port and starboard potable water tanks
  • Frame 9 to Frame 10 – black water tank
  • Bulkhead 30 to Frame 31 – hydraulic oil tank
  • Tank capacities are as follows:
  • Fuel oil 2,000 gallons
  • Potable water 600 gallons
  • Black water 500 gallons

DECKHOUSE ARRANGEMENT:

The deckhouse is constructed of aluminum and is fitted with aluminum weather tight doors and fixed rubber mounted windows. The interior of the vessel is sheathed with pebbled FRP in way of the overheads, lightweight aluminum marine wall panels in way of bulkheads, and rubber tile in way of the decks. The entire deckhouse is centrally air conditioned and heated. Located on the main deck are crew/passenger areas and sanitary facilities. The second deck consists of the pilothouse, and a below deck passenger area is located aft, just forward of the main machinery space.


Located forward and set 3' below the main deck is the forward passenger area, which is fitted with thirty-four Freedman deluxe vinyl covered high back seats, two 40" Samsung Ultra High Definition flat panel televisions, two closed circuit TV monitors, and a loudhailer speaker.


Next aft is the main passenger area, which is fitted with seventy-two Freedman deluxe vinyl covered high back seats, two 32" Samsung Ultra High Definition flat panel televisions, one 40" Samsung Ultra High Definition flat panel television, two closed circuit TV cameras, forward PFD storage, aft HVAC closets, and port and starboard sanitary facilities, which are accessed from the aft weather deck area. Sanitary facilities are outfitted with a stainless steel sink set in an aluminum countertop, bulkhead mounted mirror, soap dispenser, towel dispenser, and a porcelain commode.


Located below the main deck and forward of the main machinery space is the lower passenger area, which is fitted with fifty-one Freedman deluxe vinyl covered high back seats, two 40" Samsung 6 Series Ultra High Definition flat panel televisions, closed circuit TV camera, loudhailer speaker, forward PFD storage, and a starboard side HVAC closet. PILOTHOUSE, NAVIGATION AND ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT

The pilothouse is fitted with a forward operator's console and is accessed from the second deck via a port aft aluminum weathertight door.

  • Air compressor and tank for pneumatic horn
SUPERSTRUCTURE EXTERIOR:

The vessel is designed in a way where the top of the pilothouse is not accessible without the use of a portable ladder. The pilothouse is not surrounded by a safety rail, but is covered with non-skid coatings. The pilothouse top is fitted with a navigation light mast, two Furuno marine radar antenna units, two remotely operated searchlights, loudhailer speaker, closed circuit television camera, and seven miscellaneous GPS and VHF antennas.


The second deck is accessed by an aft inclined ladder complete with hand safety rails and storage area below. The second deck passenger area is surrounded by a 7-tier pipe constructed safety rail. LED lighting is placed throughout the passenger area. The second deck is additionally fitted with thirteen each port and starboard aluminum bench style seats with integrated PFD storage, forward 2-level U-shaped bar, life ring with line, life ring with light and line, four Bogen stereo speakers, port and starboard auxiliary steering stations, and aft auxiliary steering station. Auxiliary stations are fitted with main engine throttle and clutch controls, Jastram steering lever, and Kobelt, 7175-SY, rudder angle indicators.


The main deck is surrounded 360° by an open type bulwark with freeing ports. The bulwarks are topped with 3-tier pipe constructed safety rails. Port and starboard swing-down passenger embarkation gates/ramps are located aft along with port and starboard secondary embarkation gates and centerline aft embarkation gate. The aft section of the main deck is fitted with five aluminum fixed bench style seats, loudhailer speaker, two Bogen stereo speakers, two Fire Boy, Xintex, fire suppression boxes, shore power connection, two closed circuit TV cameras, and a 30" life ring.

MAIN PROPULSION MACHINERY:

The vessel is triple screw. Propulsion machinery consists of three MAN 1200, twin turbo-charged diesel engines, each rated at 1,200-HP at 2,350 RPM. (N,N) Each engine drives a fixed pitch propeller through a ZF Marine, model ZF3055A, marine reverse reduction gear with a 2.034:1 ratio. (N,N) The engines are electric start and keel cooled.

ELECTRICAL OUTFITTING:

Electrical power is provided by means of two John Deere, model 4045 TF 285, 4.5-Liter,

4-cylinder diesel engines (N,N) driving 67-KW synchronous AC generators. (N,N) The vessel is wired with basket weave metal armored cable and neoprene marine type wiring. Fixtures are of the vapor proof marine type and LED type. Lighting system is 110-volt AC. Switchboard is of the dead front type. Overload protection is obtained by means of circuit breakers.

  • Six 8D batteries in approved type boxes with selector switches (All N)
  • Humphrey trim control unit (N)
  • Potable water pressure set (N)
  • Two fractional horsepower potable water pumps (N,N)
  • Aluminum MSD system (N)
  • Numerous electric bilge pumps (All N)
STEERING SYSTEM:

The steering system is mechanical. Two 3-HP electric motors are set atop a common

reservoir and power the hydraulic rams for the main steering rudders.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT:

Safety equipment consists of a reported 286 U.S. Coast Guard approved adult personal flotation devices, thirty U.S. Coast Guard approved child personal flotation devices, four rack mounted, hydrostatic released 50-man Viking inflatable life rafts, and three life rings, one with a throwing line, and another with throwing line and light.


Firefighting equipment consists of eight 10-lb fire extinguishers and one 2½-lb fire extinguisher strategically placed throughout the vessel. The main machinery spaces are fitted with automatic fire suppression systems.

CONDITION:

In 2017, the vessel was hauled out and completely stripped down to bare aluminum. A full re-fit was conducted to include all propulsion machinery, all auxiliary machinery, all electrical systems, and all interior and exterior finishes.


The vessel's hull, where visible, appeared to be in excellent condition with new coatings with no signs of damage or distortion.


The top side coatings were found to be in new condition and recently coated. All windows are newly installed and in excellent condition, free of damage.


The main propulsion engines are brand new MAN, model 1200, turbo-charged diesel engines. 


Port and starboard generator engines and generator ends were found to be in new condition and are of recent manufacture.


Overall, the vessel was sighted in new condition.
