Pros
Spacious Living Areas: The Tri-Cabin design provides ample living space with a roomy saloon, galley, and two separate cabins, making it ideal for family cruising or entertaining guests.
Sturdy Build Quality: Tollycraft boats are known for their solid construction. The Tri-Cabin 34 features a fiberglass hull that resists rot and decay, ensuring longevity and durability.
Great Stability: With its broad beam and lower center of gravity, this vessel offers excellent stability while cruising and at anchor, contributing to a comfortable on-water experience.
Practical Interior Layout: The layout includes a galley up design that allows the cook to be part of the conversation in the main saloon. Additionally, it features large windows that provide great visibility and natural light.
Good Storage Options: There is an abundance of storage throughout the vessel, including under-berth storage and cabinetry in the galley and saloon, which is essential for longer trips.
Fuel Efficiency: The Tollycraft Tri-Cabin 34 is designed for efficient cruising, making it an economical choice for mid-range distances, especially with reliable diesel engines.
Cons
Older Systems: Being a vintage vessel, the Tri-Cabin may have older electronics and systems that could require upgrades or replacements, which can be an added expense for newer owners.
Maintenance Needs: Like any older boat, ongoing maintenance is essential. Buyers should be prepared for potential repairs or refurbishments to keep the vessel in optimal condition.
Limited Speed: While it offers excellent handling and stability, the Tollycraft Tri-Cabin 34 may not satisfy those looking for speed, as it is designed for cruising rather than high-speed travel.
Fuel Capacity: Depending on the specific configuration, the fuel capacity may limit long-range cruising compared to larger models, necessitating more frequent stops for fuel.
Outdated Aesthetics: The interior decor and overall design reflect the 1970s style, which may not appeal to everyone. Modernizing the interior could be a consideration for some buyers.
Draft Concerns: With a deeper draft, navigating shallow waters may be a challenge, so potential owners should consider the areas in which they plan to cruise.
