The Dana 24 has an internal lead keel. She has a 100 percent hand laid up solid fiberglass hull, and cored fiberglass deck with plywood reinforcement at hardware mounting areas. She was built in the USA in southern California. Solid cast hatches with reinforcement bars, solid bronze opening portlites and deck hardware, tiller steering, fully protected prop and rudder, a full keel with cut away forefoot, thru-hull fittings are solid bronze, U.L. approved marine sea-cocks, the main structural bulkheads are bonded to the hull and thru-bolted to the interior. The rudder has a stainless steel shaft that is welded to a 3/8 inch thick backbone. The rudder is constructed to be self supporting, but it is further supported by a bronze gudgeon which is securely bolted to the trailing edge of the keel. The electrical and plumbing systems are considered first class amoung sailing yachts.

Accommodations

Center entry from cockpit to main cabin area with galley immediately to port and a full head and shower opposite to starboard.  Forward of the head and galley are the port and starboard salon settee's that convert to 6'6" single berths.  Between the salon settees is a retractable table that locks into the compression post that creates a dining area for four.  When not in use the table slides under and into the V-berth.  Forward of the main salon is the open V-berth with bookshelves on both sides and dimensions of 6'8" in length and 6'9" wide at the head that easily sleeps two adults. Both sides of the V-berth are equipped with bookshelves. Below the berth are two drawers and a drop door hutch for additional storage.
