Designed by Ted Gozzard and built by North Castle Marine LTD in Ontario Canada, the Gozzard is 36 a traditional cutter rig with a modified fin keel underbody, skeg hung rudder and prop in aperture. Known for a balanced blending of classic aesthetics and innovative functionality the 36 features a clipper bow and versatile open-plan interior layout that affords cruisers the option of closing of the main salon and nav station/galley dinette into enclosed cabins. Built with high-quality craftsmanship, the Gozzard 36 remains a highly regarded choice for both coastal cruising and Bluewater passage-making.
Entering the vessel down the companion way steps you first see the full head on the port side. Forward of the head is the galley. Directly across from head and galley to starboard is the aft double berth with drawers and hanging locker for storage and a galley dinette with a fold out table that seats four. Forward of the galley and dinette and salon table is the main salon with port and starboard settees that swing together and form a double berth.
Innovative Interior Layout: The "Gozzard philosophy" is on full display below decks, where the interior departs from traditional fixed bulkheads to offer a convertible living space.
- Main Salon / Forward Stateroom: A spacious forward area features V-shaped settees that function as a living room by day and convert into a private centerline queen-sized island berth by night.
- Sliding Bulkheads: Cleverly designed sliding and folding bulkheads allow the cabin to be opened for social gatherings or closed off for privacy.
- Aft Cabin & Nav Station: To starboard, a large navigation station shares space with a large quarter berth, which can also be partitioned into a private cabin.
- Craftsmanship: Interiors are typically finished in hand-crafted mahogany or cherry, accented by a teak and holly sole and bronze opening ports.
