The Hunter 340 is a great cruising sailboat for the family or single-handed sailor. She was designed for easy sail handling and safety, with all control lines leading aft to the cockpit.  It is easy and safe to move around the deck.  In her very large oval cockpit, she has comfortable dry seating for the entire crew.  She has the popular sugar scoop walk thru transom for easy boarding from a dingy to/from the water.  Complete with jib roller furling, the Hunter 340 can be easily handled by one.  The spacious interior makes you feel like you are on a much larger vessel.

Whether sailing for the islands or just around the buoys, the Hunter 340 can really make a difference. Starting with the tall, fractional rig, Hunter has engineered the mast to carry less weight aloft with smaller sections. This is accomplished by utilizing swept-back spreaders and reverse diagonals as well as mast support struts. This combination provides superior strength without a backstay and increases the stability at the same time. By using a large roach main as the power sail, Hunter has eased the effort in sail handling and provided real versatility for all wind and sea conditions.

A meticulously kept vessel shows pride of ownership. This beautiful vessel is in excellent condition and has new canvas/isinglass.  Simple sail handling systems with lazy jacks and integrated sail cover, roller furling jib, a spinnaker and a set of spinnaker winches.  She comes with a dinghy, outboard, dock steps, cockpit cushions, and a great future!  She is beautiful and will please even the most discriminating buyer.

Cons

Build Quality: Some owners have noted that the construction materials and finish may not be as robust as those found on higher-end production boats.

Limited Upwind Ability: The sail plan and hull design favor cruising comfort over upwind performance, which may be a drawback for sailors seeking more competitive sailing.

Maintenance: Like many boats from the late 1990s, certain systems and fittings may require upgrades or ongoing maintenance to ensure reliability.
