While all of the Grand Banks Eastbay 49's have always been highly sought after and popular, "Sun Catcher" is an ESPECIALLY FINE example of the more rare Salon Express (SX) model with the factory hard-back salon enclosure vs the soft-back canvas enclosure found on the Hardtop Express (HX) model. This feature provides for a "true salon" which is finished to a much higher degree than that of the soft-back models (which are more exposed to the elements), and the space can be locked for added security and comfort.
(This is a Preliminary Listing- many more photos and specifications to come. The yacht is just now being commissioned for the 2023 Season) -April 2023.
"Sun Catcher" has been lovingly owned by only 2 owners, both of which have kept her in tip-top form. Some of her more key features include:
-Hull painted with Awl Grip, "San Mateo Wheat"
-Low-hours (997) on her CAT C-12 705hp diesel engines with Twin Disk MGX 5114 A Gears
-Bow Thruster added April 2023 (currently being installed)
-Hydraulic TNT swim platform (re-built 2022) with new dingy cradle (2023)
-New Garmin Electronics (2018). SEE BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS
-Cockpit teak decking
-Electric grill and ice maker in cockpit (both new 2020)
-Unique layout with larger than standard Master Stateroom and Office
-Poseidon pleated shades in Salon, all windows, windshield, and aft door (2020)

Spacious Layout: It boasts a well-thought-out interior with ample living space, including multiple staterooms and a large salon, perfect for extended cruising.
Quality Construction: Built with high-quality materials and craftsmanship, ensuring durability and longevity.

Cons
Maintenance Costs: As a 2005 model, upkeep and maintenance can be higher, especially if original equipment needs updating.
Limited High-Speed Performance: While comfortable, it is not designed for high-speed cruising, with moderate top speeds typical of semi-displacement hulls.
Interior Styling: Some may find the interior design somewhat dated compared to newer yachts, potentially requiring refurbishment for a more modern look.
Size Constraints: At just under 50 feet, space is generous but may feel limited compared to larger yachts in terms of storage and onboard amenities.
Maneuverability: Larger size and traditional hull design can make docking and tight maneuvering more challenging without experienced handling or additional equipment like bow thrusters.
