Without any question, one of the most popular cruising boats available is the Catalina 42 Mark II. Catalina Yachts made history from this model when they layed up over 1000 hulls. This is the popular 3 cabin model, which is preferred by most cruising couples and live a boards as the third cabin can be used for walk in storage leaving the second cabin ready for guests. She features a pulman berth forward with en suite head and separate shower and two guest cabins aft with another head off the main salon. I am the second owner, and have sailed her for the past 14 years from the Great Lakes to The Bahamas. This boat is very clean, very capable, very fast with a newer full baton main with Harken roller bearing cars with updated electronics, sails, diesel generator, AC, water maker, davits and canvas packages.
