Don't let her age fool you!
Corsair is a stunning example of the extremely popular Catalina 36 MKII. Lots of thoughtful upgrades and a very comfortable layout make her a standout among the rest.
- Full suite of Raymarine electronics, including oversized chartplotter with AIS & radar, wind, depth, speed and autopilot. All mounted on a new Navpod at the helm (2017)
- 9' Zodiac dinghy & Honda outboard on folding davits off the stern
- Gorgeous interior with new upholstery in the salon and galley sink/countertop
- Many more upgrades detailed in the listing....
The inside of the 1995 Catalina 36 MKII is surprisingly spacious for a boat of her size due to the 12' beam carried well aft. To port is a well equipped galley followed by a large U shaped dinette with a fixed salon table that telescopes down to create an additional berth. To starboard, is the nav station followed by two single seats and a cocktail table. This table can also drop down to create a single berth or straight settee. Forward is a v-berth and head. Aft is the second cabin with a queen berth. Lots of opening portlights and overhead hatches provide plenty of light and ventilation throughout.
Salon

Customization Options: Many Catalina 36 MkIIs come with various upgrades and options, allowing new owners to find a boat that suits their specific preferences, whether it’s electronics, rigging enhancements, or interior finishes.
Cons
Age-Related Maintenance: As a 1995 model, a Catalina 36 MkII may require more maintenance or upgrades than newer vessels. Potential buyers should budget for any necessary repairs or replacements of systems that may not be as reliable due to age.
Limited Performance Under Heavy Wind: While the Catalina 36 MkII handles well, it may be less ideal for aggressive racing or heavy air conditions compared to more performance-oriented designs. This may limit some sailors' aspirations for competitive sailing.
Storage Space: Although it offers decent interior space, some users find storage options limited, particularly for longer voyages. Careful organization is necessary to maximize the available areas.
Older Technology: Depending on the specific boat’s history, the electronics and navigational equipment may be outdated. Upgrading systems can be a further investment for buyers.
Draft Considerations: The Catalina 36 MkII typically has a deeper draft, which can restrict access to shallower waters and coves, potentially limiting exploration options for some cruising enthusiasts.
