Pearsonââ?¬â?¢s are known for their quality build and the Bruce Shaw design deep keel makes her a wonderful boat to sail and cruise. She's for performance cruising! Upgraded w/ Raymarine chart plotter, instruments, and yard maintained.

This lovely Pearson hasn't been in the water since 2013- VERY MOTIVATED SELLER! *Please note that the port side deck along the stanchion bases has been repaired due to elevated moisture readings however there is still an area around the anchor locker that needs to addressed.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 1986 Pearson 31 is a well-regarded cruiser known for its classic design and solid construction. Here are some of the key pros and cons of this model:

Pros

Sturdy Build: The Pearson 31 features a robust fiberglass hull and a well-engineered design, providing durability and reliability for coastal cruising.

Comfortable Interior: Its thoughtfully laid-out interior offers ample space for a 31-foot boat, including a functional galley, comfortable seating, and a private forward cabin.

Good Sailing Performance: With a moderate displacement and balanced sail plan, the Pearson 31 delivers stable and manageable sailing characteristics, suitable for both novice and experienced sailors.

Traditional Aesthetics: The classic lines and teak accents give the boat an attractive, timeless look that many sailors appreciate.

Ease of Handling: The boat’s manageable size and rigging make it relatively easy to handle for single-handed sailing or small crews.

Cons

Aging Systems: Being a boat from 1986, many of the onboard systems, including electrical, plumbing, and engine components, may require updating or maintenance.

Limited Headroom: While the interior layout is efficient, headroom can be somewhat restricted compared to more modern designs, which might affect comfort for taller individuals.

Performance Limitations: Although competent, the Pearson 31 is not designed for high-performance racing and may feel slower compared to newer, lighter cruiser-racers.

Limited Tankage: Fuel and water tank capacities are modest, which can limit extended cruising range without frequent resupply.

Potential for Wear: As with any older vessel, careful inspection is necessary to assess the condition of the hull, rigging, and interior to avoid costly repairs.
