The 390 Mainship is a stylish coastal cruiser with classic lines. Unlike a true trawler with a full-displacement hull the 390 is built on a faster modified V-hull. A single 315 HP Yanmar will cruise at 8 knots.  Visibility from the lower helm is excellent. Access to the fly-bridge is from molded steps from the aft deck. She is a very roomy boat thanks to her wide beam allowing for island berth forward, a second stateroom plus a separate stall shower in the head. A great Bahamian Cruiser!

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 2001 Mainship 390 Trawler is a popular choice among cruising enthusiasts, known for its solid construction and comfortable accommodations. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Spacious Interior: The 390 Trawler offers a roomy salon and well-designed living spaces, making extended cruising comfortable for families or couples.

Sturdy Build: Built with a robust hull and quality materials, it provides good stability and durability in various sea conditions.

Efficient Layout: The flybridge helm and lower helm stations offer excellent visibility and ease of handling.

Fuel Efficiency: Equipped with efficient engines, it provides decent fuel economy for a vessel of its size.

Ample Storage: Plenty of storage compartments throughout the boat allow for extended trips and gear storage.

Good Range: Large fuel tanks enable longer passages without frequent refueling.

Cons

Speed Limitations: As a trawler designed for cruising rather than speed, it has moderate top-end speed which might not suit those looking for faster travel.

Aging Systems: Being a 2001 model, some onboard systems and electronics may be outdated and could require upgrades or maintenance.

Limited Headroom on Flybridge: While functional, the flybridge area may feel somewhat confined for taller individuals.

Maintenance Requirements: Like many older trawlers, it may require ongoing upkeep to maintain performance and appearance.

Handling in Rough Seas: Although stable, its displacement hull can result in a slower response in very rough conditions compared to planing hull boats.
