This Islander 41 is a fast and balanced sailing vessel built by Islander yachts . The Hull was laid up in 1979 but not fully commissioned / launched until 1999, thus the interior is more modern in design, yet with the sturdiness , safety and sea worthiness of a timeless classic. This is a fast capable ocean going sailboat.

The Sailing Master of the Annapolis Sailing School uses his Islander ( a sister ship to this one) to take his students off shore for heavy weather training , as his boat of choice during hurricane season.

All new standing rigging in 2013, new interior / remodel in 2013, new electronics package in 2013, 2 coats of Micron 66 bottom paint in 2014, modern diesel ( Perkins 4-108) motor with low hours 337 . Boat has been waxed 2x per year and the wood work is pristine.

This Islander 41 is one of the best values on the market today .

Traditional Aesthetics: The classic lines and teak woodwork give the boat a timeless, attractive appearance.

Reliable Systems: Many boats of this model come with tried-and-true mechanical systems that are straightforward to maintain.

Cons

Heavier Displacement: The relatively heavy displacement can make the boat slower in light wind conditions compared to more modern designs.

Outdated Electronics: Original models may have outdated navigation and onboard electronics, requiring upgrades for today’s cruising needs.

Limited Tank Capacities: Freshwater and fuel tanks may be smaller by modern standards, potentially requiring more frequent resupply on longer voyages.
