A Boat That Can Take You to the Islands and Beyond!
Voodoo Island is a nice example of this popular model and has benefited from upgrades, like Generator, Bow Thruster, Air Conditioning, New Bottom Paint and good maintenance through the years. Be sure to see her before you buy!
The Island Packet 38 is arguably the largest boat under 40 feet. It has so much interior volume that you will think you are on a much larger boat. In all of my years of selling boats I have not seen another sailboat of this size that has the storage capacity of the IP 38. I recommend labeling your storage compartments and logging where you put things to save you time in finding them later. You can cruise for months without stopping for stores. Big enough for a family or two couples, yet easily single handed.

Pros
Sturdy Construction: Built with a full keel and robust fiberglass hull, the Island Packet 38 offers excellent durability and stability, making it ideal for long-distance cruising.
Comfortable Interior: The spacious and well-designed interior provides ample living space with a practical layout, including a large salon, well-equipped galley, and comfortable sleeping quarters.

Good Storage: Generous storage options both below and on deck make it convenient for extended voyages.
Classic Aesthetic: Timeless styling and teak trim give the boat an attractive, traditional look that appeals to many sailors.
Cons
Heavier Weight: The boat’s full keel and heavier displacement can result in slower speeds compared to lighter, fin-keel designs.
Draft Limitations: With a draft of around 4.5 feet, it may have limited access to very shallow anchorages and cruising grounds.
Older Systems: Being a 1988 model, some onboard systems and equipment may require updating or maintenance to meet modern standards.
Less Agile: The design prioritizes comfort and safety over racing performance, so it may not be as nimble or quick in light wind conditions.
Maintenance: Traditional materials like teak require regular upkeep to maintain their appearance and condition.
