Be sure to watch the Video Tour linked within this listing. Pelican, now a two-owner 370, was purchased in the Chesapeake area in 2020 by the current owners. They are experienced Island Packet owners having owned, lived aboard and extensively cruised a 420 for about ten years. They then downsized to a 320 as they're sailing goals changed to more day sailing and cruising Southern New England often with guests. They found the 320 too small for their needs. They then tried a Nordic Tug trawler but did not take to the powerboat lifestyle. Finally, everything was just right with this Island Packet 370 as the perfect size to take out by themselves for the day or cruising to the local islands with guests, all with the safety, comfort, and amenities they had come to expect from an Island Packet.
Pelican's standout features include: Newish Garmin electronics package installed by a local authorized Garmin installer; 2022 Dodger, Bimini & Connector; Hard bottom inflatable with Yamaha outboard included; 2016 150% genoa; Outboard motor hoist & bracket; Air Conditioning; Bow thruster; Windlass.
Pelican has been maintained by the same local marine service manager since 2020 and all service records are onboard. I can also introduce serious buyers to the service manager for a one-on-one about the service routine, likely during the out-of-water portion of the survey at his marina.
While rare to see in a 370, Pelican once had a generator mounted in a cockpit locker. The generator was inoperable and not large enough to operate all the AC powered systems when away from shore power anyway so the decision was made to have the generator professionally removed. If a new owner decided to install a new generator, the wiring, isolation switch at nav station, and fuel line should be in place making the job easier and less expensive. That said we would suggest considering solar panels as a passive power source while cruising unless you were sure you needed air conditioning when away from the dock.
As the owners are retiring from sailing, nearly everything onboard will be included with the exception of personal clothing, a couple pieces of cookware, and the art pieces hung with velcro. Given the owner's passion for the boat, I am quite sure they would be willing to spend a little time onboard with the next owner to share experiences and insights.
Pelican, which is currently on a private mooring, requires permission from a private community HOA to gain access to the exclusive dinghy dock so we are limiting in-person showings to serious buyers who are ready to buy the boat when it shows in person as it has been presented in this listing and video tour. Ideally you are ready to purchase a boat this Fall as we have priced it better than the others for a quick sale.
