“Makani”, Extremely clean, one owner fresh water boat; In-Mast Furling, Chart Plotter, Autopilot, Bimini, upgraded 29hp Yanmar, Mariner Package, located in Rochester, NY

“Makani” has always been in Lake Ontario. Lightly used by her owners who have spent considerable time and effort keeping her in top condition, sadly have to sell her.

The Hunter 33 may be the perfect boat for couples and families who want to weekend and take extended vacations in a very affordable package.

This Glenn Henderson design is perhaps the perfect melding of stability, performance, comfort and contemporary styling. The wide hull caries the beam aft, keeping it stable while providing the space to make it roomy and comfortable with lots of storage space below decks and topsides. The hull has a special “reflex” feature near the transom that minimizes drag allowing the boat to slip through the water effortlessly. The 4’ 6” deep reverse “L” lead bulb keel gets the maximum amount of weight down to keep the boat on its feet in a big breeze.

The B & R Fractional Rig with Classic Main and a 110% furling Genoa makes for efficient sail handling and exceptional performance. A Harken Traveler mounted on Hunter’s S/S arch, with control lines within easy reach of the helm aid in Mainsail handling. The optional Helm sheeting winches are within easy reach of the helm, perfect for short-handed sailing.

Down below, The “U” shaped galley is loaded with conveniences. It features large refrigeration, separate freezer, propane stove and a microwave; complete the cooking facility for even the “Gourmet Galley Chef.” All the expected cabinets & drawers are included, and the ample counter space features a Corian top.

Your guests or children will enjoy the spacious V-berth. A week’s worth of clothing for two can easily fit in the hanging locker, shelves and cabinet, all constructed of beautifully finished teak. The locker is even cedar-lined. The massive deck hatch keeps it bright and airy during the day.

Again the wide beam provides plenty of space. The two-panel windshield, deck hatch, four fixed ports and two opening ports create an open, airy feeling. The dinette seats five and easily converts to a berth when needed. Outboard storage is everywhere. The opening Nav table provides space for a chartbook and is loaded with storage underneath. The settee is ready as a 5th berth. The soft “whisper” headliner saves over 200 lbs in the deck construction and is also attractive.

The aft stateroom features plenty of space and storage with two hanging lockers (again, cedar-lined), Twin storage bins, dual reading lamps, two 110 outlets and one 12 volt receptacle, and a fixed port and opening hatch above the headboard.

The head features a head/shower compartment, Corian covered vanity, storage and fixed and opening ports for light & ventilation. All surfaces are molded fiberglass for easy cleaning.

The wide decks allow for easy crew movement and are low maintenance, teak confined to a pair of wonderful stern-rail seats integrated from the S/S arch that has the traveler mounted to it. Long S/S handrails are mounted port & starboard. Two Lewmar self-tailing winches are mounted on the coach roof for outhaul, vang and main-furler handling.

The cockpit is large enough for a big crew or entertaining while dockside. Storage is efficient and ample. You and your guests will be comfortable under the Bimini while under sail or at the dock.
