“Turtle IV” was the very beginning of the Hatteras Long Range Cruiser legacy. It is hull #1 and the showcase boat for two years, Turtle IV toured the country showing off what the legendary LRC would soon become. In remarkable condition and as the Hatteras Demo Boat, Turtle IV has many upgrades and attention to detail that no other LRC was equipped with. The African hardwood Sapele and Teak trim throughout the vessel is like no other!

Equipped with twin Detroit Diesels 4-71N motors with approximately 4000 hours, she will burn about 4 gallons an hour at 8 Knots. Giving a range of over 2000 Miles on her main tank alone.

Some of the Upgrades include: New upholstery and curtains throughout (2013), complete new galley (2013), (2) New Phasor 15kW Generators (2013), New 30-gallon hot water heater (2013)New batteries and chargers replaced in 2015, and washer and dryer (2012)

The current owners have documented everything in the ship's log for the 5 years of their ownership. If you are in the market for the king of Long Range Cruisers, then you owe it to yourself to make an appointment and see the Turtle for yourself. She is an amazing vessel and the one that started it all.

Cons

Older Systems: Being a vessel from 1975, many onboard systems such as electrical, plumbing, and electronics may require updating or maintenance.

Fuel Consumption: While designed for long range, the yacht's twin diesel engines can be less fuel-efficient compared to modern designs.

Maintenance Intensive: Older boats typically require more upkeep, including potential issues with aging fiberglass, teak decks, and machinery.

Limited Modern Amenities: The interior styling and amenities may feel dated compared to contemporary yachts, requiring refits for modern comfort.

Size and Maneuverability: At 58 feet, the yacht is substantial in size, which may pose challenges for docking and maneuvering in tight marinas without experienced handling.
