The Catalina 27 is a nice family cruising vessel with great accommodations and interior space (6'2" headroom). This model has the "Traditional" interior with a table which folds out of the way which offers great inside space instead of the dinette version which converts to a small double. There is also one settee that extends into a longer double berth (6' & 6'2" berths). The other nice feature is this boat has an inboard diesel and an Edson Wheel instead of the standard tiller. And the fin keel is the best for sailing performance - especially to weather. There also is a starboard quarter berth and the galley is located on the port side. Check out the list of gear that goes with this boat. The self-bailing cockpit is large and the deck is easy to walk about on with the inboard shroud attachments and forward hatches and deck anchor locker. The traveler is on the cabin top out of the way.

Cons
Outdated Interior Design: The interior styling and fittings reflect the era it was built in, which may feel dated compared to more modern sailboats.
Limited Headroom: While spacious, the cabin headroom is somewhat limited, which might be uncomfortable for taller sailors.
Modest Upwind Performance: The boat performs well overall but can be a bit sluggish when sailing close-hauled in light winds.
Basic Systems: The onboard systems and amenities are fairly simple, so some owners choose to upgrade electrical, plumbing, or navigation equipment.
