CUSTOM Cascade 44

Reduced $69,000

Hull laid in 1973, first launched in 2017. Cascade Yachts, built in Portland, Oregon are famous for their "bullet proof" hulls. Cascade Yachts was one of the pioneers in fiberglass hull construction.Ã?  In 1954, engineers and architects at CascadeÃ?  decided to use a new material called fiberglass to build large sailboat hulls. To prove the strength of this composite material a sample was laid-up and tested for strength. The final test was done by shooting bullets from different fire arms at it from a 10 foot range- hence Cascade became known for building ââ?¬Å?bullet proofââ?¬ï¿½ hulls.

"By His Grace's " 44 ft bare hull was lovingly and painstakingly finished by her current owner. She has countless upgrades and custom features including 3 Lewmar Electric winches and hand bent Stainless Steel railings in place of wire lifelines. There are custom butterfly hatches, well placed deck prisms, and a beautiful wooden bow sprit to match the wooden toe rails. The boat is magnificent.

Below deck is just as impressive with an array of specialty woods used for  cabinetry and trim. There are 3 cabins; huge V berth, midship cabin with couch that can sleep one person or open into a Queen berth to Starboard (storage underneath) and a 1/4 berth aft cabin to port.

The Galley runs along the Port side of the vessel and features custom cabinetry with loads of storage, ample counter space, stainless steel double sinks, 3 burner propane stove and a huge front-loading refrigerator/freezer.

The main cabin sports 6'5" headroom and has great ventilation with bronze ports and a large butterfly hatch.  There is also a diesel heater for traveling north in colder temps.

The dinette features a beautiful table with an inlaid navigation chart. The seating cushions are an almond leatherette and are quite comfortable.

Access to the engine compartment is located at the base of the companionway and allows for easy routine inspection and engine maintenance.

The is also a WASHER/DRYER aboard AND a water-maker!

The cockpit layout is large and inviting yet offers protection when offshore. There is a fixed helmseat to Port that swivels allowing the captain to steer and helm the boat while entertaining guests.

The helm is integrated into the cabin-top  much like a motor sailor- rather than a freestanding helm/wheel.  This is an effective use of space and allows for the companionway to be offset to Starboard. The cockpit has a full enclosure protecting her crew from the elements.

Going forward on deck is relatively safe and easy as the entire boat is flanked by double solid stainless steel railings rather than traditional wire lifelines.  The decks are wide and allow for safe movement for and aft. All lines lead aft to the cockpit so there is really no need to go forward on deck.

This Cascade 44 is capable of cruising anywhere in the world. 'By His Grace ' is fully outfitted for long term offshore cruising. Owner sailed her  from Portland, Oregon to Canada & San Juan Islands then  down the coast to Mexico. When Covid hit, the boat was shipped to Florida.
