She is equipped for long-distance cruising, and has sailed to Portugal and back.

Nicholson 31's had a long production run, and have always been sought after as serious long-distance cruisers. Kai Ann was built at the end of their production run and is solid and strong, with no blisters. She has ample headroom and a well-appointed interior, with a quarterberth, large v-berth, and proper chart table.Her long keel and transom-hung rudder make her a good choice for a single-hander or a great boat for a couple or small family.
