This Luna Rigged Tayana Schooner was built specifically for single handed cruising and from 1985 until 1992 she did just that from the building yard in Taiwan, to Hong Kong where the owner oversaw the installation of her electronics, and additional equipment. He then left for Malaysia, South Africa, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, the Caribbean and farther points. She started through the Panama Canal and nearly reached Patagonia, before circumstances brought her home to port in 1999. The one and only owner of this fine vessel has been with her from the time she was a drawing on paper, the entire construction and every port of call she has ever made. Broker's Remarks
The owner lived aboard until early in 2004 when physical problems forced him to move ashore. During the last several years as his health became worse, his normal very strict maintenance schedule slipped and some systems are in need of updating. The engine is strong and has approx 5300 hours. The generator is a Northern Lights 6.5KW and was installed in 1997. The list of spares and equipment is extensive, and too long to list all here. All major systems are in good working order, with the exception of the Bow Thruster, which has been removed. This is a rare opportunity to own a boat with a strong pedigree. It would take very little to return her to her full glory. This boat must be seen to be appreciated.
