Taswell 49's have long been regarded as premium blue water cruisers. These boats in the right conditions are capable of delivering 200mile days offshore. Their Scheel keel and ICW friendly mast make the Bahamas and US east coast more accessible. 125 gal of fuel and 200gal of freshwater represents range and tankage you will not find on modern production boats. Ta Shing quality interior joinery is something also no longer found in modern boats This broker is also a Taswell 49 owner and has sold already in 2026 2 other Taswell 49's. These boats do not stay on the market long. Jade is a unique example as she has the rare two cabin layout. This layout results in larger, more luxurious sleeping cabins as well as additional storage options. Full time cruisers will appreciate her separate showers in both heads as well as monstrous fridge and freezer capacities. Jade's sellers have enjoyed many years of great cruising but the time is now for them to pursue new adventures.

Owners Comments and Boat History
Jade’s history was recently relayed through Derek Holding, previous owner and CEO of International Yacht Charter Group, Inc. The vessel was originally imported to the United States when purchased from Ta Shing in 1989 and is believed to have had two or three owners prior. Derek and his wife used the vessel as their personal yacht and lived aboard for much of their ownership. Documented cruising history includes Killarney, Ireland, New England, and extensive time throughout the Caribbean.
The current owners purchased Jade in 1999 and lived aboard for several years before relocating due to a career opportunity flying floatplanes in Alaska. There is no record of charter use, and it is confirmed the vessel has remained privately owned throughout its life.
The company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel. A buyer should instruct his agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated. Limited Availability of Parts: As a model that’s no longer in production, finding specific replacement parts may be more challenging compared to newer yachts.
