The carbon fiber pocket boom allows a full roach, fully battened main that can be built without the performance restrictions induced by roller furling mains. The pocket boom also provides a wide base for lazy jacks and makes setting and dousing the main an easy task. Offwind performance is maximized using a masthead, roller furling reacher that is easily handled by a couple. For greater strength and performance, the 5300 is fit with a two spreader carbon mast that saves 50% of the tube weight of an aluminum mast.
