The 38 mk 2 features a large fully enclosed aft cabin (rather than an open quarter berth), spacious owners cabin forward and a large convertible dinette, making her an excellent choice for family cruising without the headaches of a 40+ foot boat. The Sabre build quality means that you are buying a "serviceable" boat with good bones and good access for long term care and feeding. This is not an assembly-line boat that is put together with no thought towards future maintenance.
Her powerful masthead rig, 6.5' fin keel and spade rudder make her a balanced performer. The current sail plan utilizes a 134% overlapping genoa which earned her a first overall in the local 2026 summer beer can racing series.
The entire boat runs via two Group 31 AGM batteries, with charging via alternator or 90-watt solar panels mounted on the bimini for shade-free constant charging in sunlight. Most interior lighting converted to LED.

As we step below, the private aft cabin is right to port. You’ll find a comfortable double berth under the cockpit, a small seat, hanging locker, and solid storage. Good ventilation and easy engine access make this a true private cabin for owners or guests.
Just forward is the L-shaped galley to port—double stainless sinks, full stove/oven, fridge, and plenty of counter space and lockers. Opposite, to starboard, is the large head with vanity, toilet, and shower area.
Next to the head sits the aft-facing nav station, with chart table, seat, and the main electrical panel close at hand—easy communication with the helm.
The salon opens up midships. An L-shaped settee to port converts to a double, a straight settee to starboard serves as a single, and a bulkhead-mounted table folds completely away. Teak joinery, teak-and-holly sole, and Ultrasuede cushions give it that classic Sabre warmth and quality.
Forward through the privacy door is the owner’s cabin: a generous V-berth, hanging locker, and a vanity with sink and seat to port. Storage and ventilation are excellent.
Overall she sleeps up to seven with two private cabins—a nicely maintained, well-built performance cruiser ready for her next owner.
