Sabre Yachts has crafted traditional, downeast style motoryachts in South Casco, Maine since 1989. The Sabreline 42 defines both the style and appearance of this class of yacht: modern hull lines, excellent and economical cruise speeds, more interior comfort, more space for navigational electronics and perhaps most important of all, more space to relax, to unwind and to enjoy your time on the water.
The Sabre Design team has created a yacht which is both sea kindly and strong. She will give you confidence in her low speed handling and feel sporty when running at planning speeds. A renaissance yacht with the style of years past and the performance of today.

The main salon of the Sabreline 42 is surrounded by light and filled with air from a dozen windows. Hand crafted interior joinery in American cherry fills this space with tasteful elegance. Relax and enjoy the company of good friends or a good book. This space was designed for your comfort.
The helm seat doubles as a serving table when folded. In the aft starboard corner is the entertainment center with double bi-fold doors. In front of the comfortable L-shaped settee is a beautifully finished hi-lo table and above the galley to port is a chart table/desk for the navigator. Halogen lighting is provided in the overhead and accent lighting is hidden behind the valances.
To starboard is the lower helm with a sliding door to the side deck. This helm is designed to accept all of today’s sophisticated navigational electronics systems. Engine controls are laid out to be easily viewed, without obstructing the view of the helmsman. Large forward windows, equipped with Exalto wipers and washers, ensure that the view forward is always clear. Sight lines from the lower helm are excellent. Not all motoryachts are equipped with a lower helm but consider the benefits: in cold, hot or wet weather the crew can find complete comfort in the main salon. In rough weather the crew is at a lower level in the yacht where the pitching moment is lessened and the ride more comfortable. You’ll be more likely to venture out to sea in less than perfect weather with a lower helm station.
The master stateroom forward is large center-island berth with a large and comfortable sleeping surface. Several hand crafted wood drawers with dovetailed drawer boxes offer ample storage. Lockers are also provided for your personal effects. The cedar lining of the hanging locker is just one detail which again demonstrates Sabre Yacht’s attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. Above the berth are additional stowage areas behind tambour cherry sliders and beside the berth, wide shelves for your books and personal effects. Stainless steel reading lights are placed on the forward bulkhead above the berth. Overhead is a large opening hatch and on the cabin sides, stainless steel opening ports which provide ample light and air to this comfortable space. A door provides private access to the head compartment.
Aft of the master stateroom is the easily maintained head compartment with separate shower stall. A bi-fold door separates the head and shower and a seat is provided in the shower compartment. The Corian vanity counter is a durable and elegant surface. An overhead deck hatch and a stainless steel opening port are provided for ventilation.
Opposite the head is the guest cabin with over/under single berths. When not in use, a divider opens up this space for use as an additional area in which to relax. A full length mirror is located on the forward bulkhead. A cedar lined hanging locker and drawers under the lower berth will be provide the storage needed for your guests gear. There is an optional pull-out double berth which can make the lower single into a double berth while still retaining the second berth above. To port is the complete galley with under-counter Sub Zero fridge, ceramic two burner cook-top, convection microwave oven, double stainless steel sinks with single lever mixing faucet and ample storage spaces for all of your provisions. An exhaust fan keeps the galley free of cooking smoke. Good lighting is available under the cupboards lighting the working surfaces of the galley. A high pressure laminate counter is standard while optional Corian provides a beautiful and durable work surface. Light pours in from the large windows overhead.
On deck, the Sabreline 42, like all of her siblings, offers secure footing with a diamond shaped, anti-slip pattern in the gelcoat. Large diameter rails and deep side decks make movement around this deck safe and secure no matter what the conditions. At the bow a windlass with rope to chain gypsy is provided as are two wing lockers for storage of fenders, lines and additional ground tackle. 12˝ Herreshoff cleats are located forward, amidships and in the cockpit. In the cockpit sole are three lazarette hatches providing access to the large storage spaces below. An inward turning transom door makes stepping aboard safe and secure. Accent lighting under the cockpit coaming, sheds a warm light on this space after dark.
Steps to the cockpit are recessed into the side decks in order to provide the largest possible flat surface for cockpit seating. And this cockpit is one that can be truly enjoyed. A sink with wet bar is standard while an ice maker and gas grill are available as options. Also available is an extended hard top which turns this space into a comfortable living area regardless of the weather conditions.
From the cockpit, a fabricated staircase leads to the command bridge and upper helm. Unlike many “convertibles” which use ladders to get from one level to the other, this staircase is easy to scale. The command bridge has a forward facing settee and cocktail table and is equipped with dual helm chairs. The skipper’s chair has a deep foot rest well. A multi-facetted helm pod has all of the space needed for navigational equipment.
