Welcome Aboard Bel Esprit II, A 1982 Pearson 424 Ketch that has spent 6 months of each for the last 9 years, cruising the Caribbean & Mexico. She has been lovingly maintained with ample preventive maintenance by its present owners with the goal of trouble-free and safe cruising. This proven bluewater cruiser is equipped with an integrated suite of Raymarine Navigation Electronics, including GPS/Radar, AutoPilot, Depth, & Wind Displays in the cockpit, a 2015 VHF with AIS, an 8 Kw Kohler Generator, 16,000 BTU Marvair Reverse Cycle A/C, A Revere 2012 Offshore Liferaft, new Lifelines in 2014, new Halyards in 2016, and three 8-D Batteries replaced in 2014.
As you board Bel Esprit II you immediately notice the large deep cockpit area and its organization. At the helm you have easy access to all shipboard controls and electronics, including Raymarine GPS Chartplotter/Radar, Autopilot, Depth & Wind displays. To port aft, there is a control for the AutoHelm autopilot; forward to port of the companionway you find the radar and Rudder Indicator. To starboard and below the bridge-deck you have quick access to your Depth, speed and wind indicators. All the electronics are easy to reach yet out of the way to provide comfortable seating on any tack and in any conditions. The cockpit has a full set of cushions designed for wet or dry sailing.
As you work in the cockpit, you will note that the running gear is conveniently located for ease of sail handling and sailing with safety of the crew being the paramount concern in any conditions.
On deck, the coast is clear to roam around as there are raised rail caps and plenty of side deck to walk. At the mast, you will find a pair of U-Shaped Mast Guard Stanchions both port and starboard that provide a safe place to handle halyards and sails on any tack. Mid-ships, you will find a second companionway leading directly into the main cabin and a Dorade vent providing fresh air at all times.
Going below in Bel Esprit II is an escape from all reality. As you descend down the aft companionway, the first thing you notice is the beautiful all teak interior and how the interior has been maintained to the highest standards. To port you will find a large double berth with storage and shelves abound. To starboard is the very well equipped Navigation station which provides easy access to all shipboard electrical systems, 8 Kw Kohler Diesel Generator control panel, updated Standard-Horizon VHF radio with DSC & AIS, and plenty of storage for charts, books and other items that require quick access from the helm.
Moving forward into the main cabin, to port you will find a large "U" galley that is very well equipped with a double sink w/hot & cold water, a 120V Tankless Water Heater, vast amounts of storage and an insulated refrigerator/freezer with a 12 Volt Adler/Barbour Cold Machine (w/large freezer compartment) and is capable of holding plenty of food during cruises. The Air Conditioning system is located under the Galley and all vents run through the bilges to all areas of the vessel, so cabinet storage space is not lost or taken up by the insulated duct hoses.
Across from the Galley you will find a large head with vanity and separate shower stall. There are many storage compartments including a custom water tight locker in the shower area which utilizes an unused space in the boat to its maximum potential.
The salon area is a warm and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the evening. To both port and starboard, you will find two long settees and a centerline folding table with storage. The settees are long enough for guests to sleep or to use while underway using the lee boards to keep you in the sack and safe. Again, in the salon, there is storage everywhere with no nook or cranny unused.
Forward of the main cabin is a private cabin with "V" berth, full vanity with storage below, "V" berth forward and to starboard is a large hanging locker, drawers, and a second (hidden) head.
