This roomy, capable and well-built cruiser is ready to go!

"The Pacific Seacraft Orion 27 has been called many things, from an overbuilt floating apartment to the sort of boat an adventurous sailor might choose to sail around the world. During production in the 1970s through the early the 1980s, it was available as a sloop, yawl or cutter and was designed by Henry Mohrschladt, who along with builder Mike Howarth, founded Pacific Seacraft in 1975."

Pros

Solid Construction: Built with a robust fiberglass hull and a heavy-duty full keel, the Orion 27 offers excellent durability and stability in various sea conditions.

Seaworthiness: Designed for offshore cruising, it handles rough waters well, making it a reliable choice for extended passages.

Classic Design: The traditional lines and teak trim provide timeless appeal and a charming aesthetic.

Comfortable Layout: Despite its compact size, the interior is well-organized with efficient use of space, offering comfortable accommodations for small crews.

Good Resale Value: Due to its reputation and build quality, the Orion 27 tends to hold its value well over time.

Cons

Limited Speed: The full keel design prioritizes stability over speed, so the boat is not particularly fast compared to more modern designs.

Smaller Interior Space: At 27 feet, interior room is limited, which may feel cramped for longer voyages or larger groups.

Older Systems: Being a 1983 model, some onboard systems and equipment may require updating or maintenance.

Heavier Weight: The solid construction contributes to a heavier displacement, which can affect trailering and maneuverability in tight spaces.

Limited Modern Amenities: Lacking some contemporary conveniences and technology found in newer boats, which might require retrofitting for modern comfort.
