Self-Sufficient Cruising: The 37 Crealock is designed for long-distance cruising, with ample storage for provisions and gear. Many models come equipped with reliable systems such as solar panels and wind generators, promoting self-sufficiency while at sea.
Resale Value: Given its reputation and the limited number produced, the Pacific Seacraft 37 Crealock typically maintains good resale value, making it a prudent investment for serious sailors.
Cons
Weight: The heavier design, while contributing to stability, can also lead to reduced performance in light winds. This might be a consideration for those who prefer faster, more agile sailing.
Cost of Maintenance: Due to its high-quality materials and construction, maintenance can be more costly compared to lighter or lesser-built vessels. Owners must be prepared for potential expenses related to upkeep.
Limited Performance in Light Winds: While excellent in strong winds, its heavier design can result in sluggish performance when conditions are less than ideal, which some sailors may find less enjoyable.
Older Electronics and Systems: Many 1991 models may have older navigation and electrical systems. Upgrading these can incur additional costs if modern technology is desired.
Space Restrictions: Although considered spacious for a 37-foot boat, some may find the layout a bit cramped compared to modern designs, particularly when accommodating a larger crew.
