This very popular model mentioned by Ferenc Matë in his book "The World's Best Sailboats" became Oyster's longest production run due to it's well matched design by the famous design team of Holman & Pye to satisfy the criteria and needs as the ideal solid offshore cruising boat. Her center cockpit provides excellent protection from angry seas and spray; plus the "Maddie Louise" has a ketch rig making her very easy to manage. Also, her 5'shoal draft may be increased by lowering her centerboard to 8'9" for the heaviest of weather in bluewater sailing conditions.
