The Hank Hinckley designed Ocean Cruiser 42 is a true bluewater boat with long-range capabilities. She has beautiful lines and a cleverly designed interior with two separate entries. Her interior is light and spacious with well-crafted cabinetry that slides out and latches into place.
She features an aft cockpit and aft cabin, dark blue Awlgrip hull (1994), teak decks and cockpit (2008), stainless capped rub rail. Construction of hull is hand laid fiberglass with Airex core while the deck is cored with end-grain balsa. Cabins are insulated.
She sleeps a total of 5 in 2 cabins, 6 if aft starboard berth is used as a double. The interior finish is satin varnished ash (stripped/revarnished 2009). The cabin sole is laid teak/holly. She has 12 opening ports and 4 dorado vents. She has a 2 hatches and 1 companionway. She had a full interior refit in 1999/2000: port side/main cabin converted to extra storage and/or office/computer/storage. Most cabinets are secured with "aircraft rated" latches. She has a large fold-out table in main salon and a small cockpit table.

5/8 inch (or 1.25 inch with Airex core) at the waterline.

The structural laminates are applied with the two piece hull mold connected therefore these laminates are overlapped across the centerline. The boat is built as a single unit not two pieces with a centerline reinforcement holding the two together.
