A GREAT LIVE-ABOARD OPPORTUNITY
Get to know Holokai- a classic Stamas 44 Ketch from 1984, that is timeless in her spirit and functionality. With an overall length of 44 feet, she's equipped for comfortable cruising and far flung transits alike.
With a durable fiberglass hull and fin keel, Holokai promises stability and performance in any conditions the forecast throws at you. Powered by a reliable Yanmar 4JH2M-DTE inboard diesel engine, delivering 87 horsepower, she'll show you a smooth sailing experience.
Accommodations include two well-appointed cabins with double berths, and newly updated heads-with an electric head aft-providing ample comfort and space for relaxation. Holokai sports many updates thanks to her careful upkeep-with upgraded electronics, newly replaced hoses in the hydraulic steeling and generator systems, and some brand new rigging replacements: from the Genoa, to the jib sheets.
With her thoughtful design and robust construction, Holokai is ready to set sail when you are-and make lifelong memories along the way-just see her story so far!
"Holokai has been a solid friend for multiple trips to the Bahamas. The best by far was a single-handed trip with two buddy-boats. She saw me through a good crossing after leaving Boot Key Harbor in Marathon, FL. Then, we checked in to Bimini before sailing across the banks to Frazier's Hog Key and then on to Rose Island, before slowly picking our way along the Exuma chain all the way to Georgetown.
One boat needed to head back early, and we picked up another boat for most of the Exuma chain—and all the while, Holokai held steady as ever. The remaining boat and I crossed to Cat Island then Eleuthera, with multiple stops before crossing the bank and heading home..
From countless enjoyable evenings over a meal along the way, as well as great snorkeling, and memorable hikes, I forged friendships with the sailors I traveled with that stand fast today, and have fond memories of the entire trip. While there have been subsequent trips for 3 - 4 weeks at a time to the Abacos, back to the Exumas, and to Dry Tortugas, that 10 week trip was an unforgettable start to a treasured chapter of cruising on Holokai."
