LEGEND 40-1
1 Engine (YANMAR)
40 feet

Fiberglass/Reinforced
Designed by Courtland Steck, the Hunter 40-1 was built just shy of 10 years ending in 1991. It boasts the design of a much larger yacht in 40 feet. Departing from previous sailboats across the board in the decade before, her beam is increased maximizing interior living space and adds to the stability of the vessel under sail. Her B&R rig became the standard offering a more powerful mainsail with significant roach providing much of the boat's drive. The interior utilizes a tri-cabin layout that prioritizes privacy for two couples. The master stateroom is located aft, featuring a large double walk-around berth with private access to the aft head. The forward V-berth is equally accommodating with a second head with shower, hanging lockers & more storage. In the main salon there is a large U-shaped dinette to starboard with a teak dining table. To port is a longitudinal galley with expansive counter space & deep sinks. A nice feature for those longer cruises. The table is center-mounted w/Leafs & a Nav station with lift up table & chart light is on the port side. Lots of headroom. Lots of teak joinery provides a warmer ambiance. Her fin keel with spade rudder & B&R rig offer simple sail handling, and a high performance-to-comfort ratio for a production boat. Windshield is a solid boat that needs some TLC under the heading of annual maintenance. Her interior is quite good in need of some small amounts of attention. Cushions are fairly new and look great. The owner is very motivated to move this boat along and will consider any decent offers.
