called "A Cats Paw". She's outfitted for extended cruising / passagemaking and is in excellent condition. She has in-mast mainsail furling, furling jib, plus addl' sails, a well-maintained Yanmar engine with SailDrive and 3-blade folding prop.

The combination of a Philippe Briand designed hull and an interior and deck design by Franck Darnet & Flahault Design has yielded a boat that is not only a joy to sail, but exceptionally comfortable. All sheets are lead aft to the helm to make sail handling very simple for a short-handed crew. The rudder design / size create a very stable, easy-handling boat, both under sail in gusty conditions and under power when docking, etc. But thing that really sets the 44ds apart from others is the full-width aft cabin with huge island bed. The 44ds also includes a bunk-beds crew cabin forward to port that give you excellent storage ability.
S/V "A Cats Paw" has been equipped and prepaired for passagemaking and extended cruising, with an impressive list of improvements including:
- (4) Sunpower 170W solar panels installation with (2) Victron MPPT 100/30 charge
controllers and (2) Victron 12/12-18 DC/DC chargers.
- HydroVane wind vane.
- Viking life raft and bracket installation, 8 person, type 8UKSL-ISO 9650.
- Achilles HB-270FX dinghy and Mercury LPG outboard, model: 1FP5201EK.
- Removeable baby / inner forestay with Highfield lever.
- Lofrans Project 1500 windlass (2022).
- Spectra Cape Horn Extreme watermaker.
- Bimini (Iverston built) with solar panels above.
