OWNER WANTS HIS BOAT SOLD - IS RECEPTIVE TO ALL OFFERS

If you are looking for a sailboat that will take you anyplace in the world and do it with complete safety, this is one to consider.   It successfully navigated a ten foot sea and 40 knot winds without issue.  The owner of this boat has resolved many issues that are prevalent in older Island Packet boats.  A list of improvements is as follows:

  • New poly holding tank manufactured by Duraweld to factory specification (2018).
  • New bottom paint completed by Diversified Yacht Services ââ?¬â?? Ft. Myers Beach (2018)
  • New refrigeration system installed by Sea Tech ââ?¬â?? Naples.
  • New bank of six 12 volt batteries (2018).
  • New closed cell 12 volt engine starting battery (2018).
  • New Garmin chart plotter ââ?¬â?? large screen (2016).
  • LED Lighting ââ?¬â?? interior cabin (2018).
  • 9'6" AB rib tender.
  • New Yamaha 6HP horsepower outboard for dingy (2016).
  • New helm cushions made to IP specifications (2016).
  • New isinglass for dodger (2017).
  • New scuppers (2017).
  • New Racor water/fuel separator (2017).
  • New varnish ââ?¬â?? two coats of Seatol and two coats of high gloss (2018/2019).
  • Many more new items too lengthy to list.

In 1998, it was common to manufacture aluminum holding tanks.  Aluminum holding tanks will corrode when exposed to salt water and/or uric acid (urine).  Maintaining the original capacity of the original tank while concurrently limiting the cutting of cabin teak is a large undertaking.  The owner retained Hinckley Yacht Services to complete the work at a cost of $13,000.  The installation of the tank and plumbing reflects a job done to perfection.

The 350 fulfills the time-honored Island Packet credo that a real cruising monohull be traditional in appearance, modern in concept and state-of-the-art in its construction and outfitting. What you end up with in the 350 is a solid, dependable cutter, put together with care and expertise and developed over time for mainstream cruisers keen on anything from local sailing to long-distance voyaging. There is plenty of storage - plus the payload-carrying ability to use it - and a performance profile that puts a premium on stability, ease of handling and comfort underway.

As Island Packet owners know this vessel is an unparalleled combination of practical cruising features, live-aboard comfort and offshore performance.
The topside scenario emphasizes practical cruising. The cockpit is safe and secure with good high coamings for ocean work, and the seating is long enough to stretch out on horizontally should you want to sleep there beneath the stars. Safety harness pad eyes are installed at the factory. Primaries are within reasonable reach of the helm, and line bins keep spaghetti under control. The bow with its sturdy sprit is dedicated to anchoring: The hook is simple to store and deploy, the locker is deep, and a prime spot for windlass installation is tooled into the deck. The cutter rig offers a wide range of easy to handle sail combinations, and when you factor in the optional spinnaker package youre really equipped.
Shoot the Breeze has been maintained by Diversified Yachts and it is equipped with many creature comforts to include refrigeration, a 2000 watt inverter, custom made companionway doors, a full cockpit enclosure with screen in excellent shape and more. Also included is a  transom mounted davit system with a 9' 6" AB RIB dinghy with a 4 stroke Yamaha outboard.

The Biggest Pros and Cons

The 1998 Island Packet 350 is a well-regarded cruising sailboat known for its solid construction and comfortable accommodations. Here are some pros and cons to consider:

Pros

Sturdy Build: Island Packet yachts are known for their heavy-duty fiberglass construction and robust design, offering excellent durability and safety in offshore conditions.

Comfortable Interior: The 350’s interior layout is spacious and well-appointed, featuring quality woodwork, ample storage, and comfortable living spaces suitable for extended cruising.

Good Stability: The full keel design provides excellent directional stability and a smooth motion through the water, making it comfortable for long passages.

Easy Handling: The cutter rig and well-planned deck layout make sail handling manageable for a small crew or even single-handed sailing.

Resale Value: Island Packet boats often hold their value well due to their reputation for quality and seaworthiness.

Cons

Weight and Speed: The heavy displacement and full keel design mean the 350 is not a fast boat, which may not appeal to those seeking performance-oriented sailing.

Draft: With a draft around 4.5 feet, it may limit access to shallower cruising grounds compared to shoal-draft alternatives.

Older Systems: Being a 1998 model, some onboard systems and equipment may be dated and could require upgrades or maintenance.

Price Point: Island Packet yachts tend to command a premium price relative to other boats of similar size and age, reflecting their build quality but potentially limiting options for budget-conscious buyers.
