54' Hunter '82 "Pegasus"

Just 24 hulls of this racing Hunter made.  Pegasus, originally a race boat had been converted to a well designed cruiser.   An ultralight with slippery lines is easily driven.  Pegasus will make 200 mile days easily.  She sails relatively flat and likes being in front of the fleet.  Roller furling headsails include Genoa and Solent that works as a storm sail.  KKMI installed a custom Ballenger mast and rigging.  At the same time an extensive refit on the interior of this boat, installing custom cabinetry of burled Maple.  Current owner installed an arch with solar panels and surfboard rack. Thereââ?¬â?¢s a dinghy garage for the 9ââ?¬Ë? Avon. Large scoop makes snorkeling easy. Cruise from harbor to harbor or live off the grid with solar power and 800 amps battery bank. The custom 12-volt refrigerator is so well insulated it makes ice in the tropics. Keel attachment to hull has been reinforced. Scoop has been reinforced. Watertight bulkhead for open ocean safety is also specific to Pegasus.
