The Glenn Henderson redesigned Hunter 36 is a great example of a mid-sized cruising sailboat that has all of the comfort, convenience, and easy handling one expects in a modern design. An ergonomic layout, focus on performance and simplicity, and spacious accommodations makes this boat ideal for extended passage-making, weekend trips, or anything in between. Intention is a particularly well-maintained, two owner boat that has been on Lake Erie since she was delivered. Her diligent owners have enjoyed many seasons aboard and have made valuable upgrades during their tenure.
On deck, the cockpit is spacious, features fold-down transom access, attractively varnished stern perch seats, and modern electronics. Seating for crew and guests surrounds the wheel steering station, and all lines are led aft for safety and simplicity. Further, the furling main and genoa make the boat easy to sail and adapt sail area to changing conditions without the need to go forward. When anchoring, a Maxwell electric windlass makes easy work of setting and weighing anchor with the convenience of foot switches. Cockpit comfort is enhanced with a full set of cushions, and a full canvas enclosure with side screens that zip on for convenience. A Magma propane grill on the stern rail adds more options for cooking at sea or at the dock, and features a color-matched canvas cover.
Below deck, the bright, airy cabin has a full 6'5" of headroom and attractive cabinetry. An open salon with offset table can be converted to additional berthing by lowering the table and adding the filler cushion. The port settee is long enough to be comfortable as a pilot berth, and provides comfortable seating at the fully-functional nav station, which has the optional additional freezer underneath. To starboard, the galley has tasteful solid-surface counters, LPG stove/oven, microwave, dual stainless sinks and a front-loading refrigerator/freezer. You'll have plenty of space for meal preparation and cold storage for your provisions. The full stateroom aft has an athwartships queen-size berth. All of your favorite linens will fit here, as the size is a standard rectangular queen--no need for custom-fitted boat linens! A private V-berth forward is amply sized, and hanging lockers can be found forward and aft. Whatever the season, the salon features air conditioning and reverse cycle heat for your continual comfort.
The B&R rig eliminates the backstay and induces pre-bend to the mast for an optimized tuning and simple handling. A large, stainless arch over the cockpit carries the traveler, freeing up legroom and eliminating tripping hazards. The bimini is also incorporated in the arch, maximizing on-deck headroom.
If your next sailing adventure calls for longer time away from the dock, simpler handling, enhanced comfort, or any combination thereof, make plans to get aboard soon!
