Mahaya is a nice example of the Hinckley Picnic Boat Classic - the most popular boat built by Hinckley and still a classic design, instantly recognizable on the water. She is for sale by her second owner and has been well cared for over the years with a new engine installed in 2014, recent hull paint and cushions as well as an upgraded Stidd helm seat.
The Picnic Boat is easily handled with her Hinckley JetStick, making close quarter maneuvering easy and stress free. Set up for day trips with family and friends, she also has everything below for coastal cruising for a couple.
HULL and DECK CONSTRUCTION
Construction of the hull is Hinckley DualGuard system with Kevlar E-glass outer skin, balsa core with carbon fiber inner skin, SCRIMP®ed with Vinylester resin. Deck and cockpit are E-glass and balsa core, molded with polyester resin. The deck and cockpit sole have a molded-in non-skid pattern.

DECK FEATURES:
- Rounded, tapered, varnished teak toe rail with Hinckley profile

- Varnished teak handrails on pilot house roof and trunk cabin for security going forward
- Low profile opening aluminum hatches with removable screens (forward hatch replaced 2019)
- (4) Elliptical ports on house sides - (2) fixed, (2) opening
- Mast-mounted spotlight and roof top-mounted radome, painted to match deck
- Bow, stern and midship 316L stainless steel mooring cleats
- Custom Hinckley 316L stainless steel bow chocks

PILOTHOUSE
The pilothouse is finished in varnished teak, and the insulated white overhead has (2) Lewmar Ocean opening hatches with removable screens.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
The open interior layout sleeps two in the v-berth forward and incorporates a galley and separate head. The interior is finished in satin varnished cherry with gloss varnished teak and holly cabin sole and a white v-groove overhead. A large opening overhead hatch with removable screen and two opening portlights provides ventilation and two more fixed portlights provide additional natural light. A small galley and enclosed head provide amenities for overnight accommodations.

GALLEY:
The galley is located to port and has a Formica countertop with cherry fiddle. Force 10 two-burner stove is on the forward part of the galley and has a custom wood stove cover the also adds to the counter space. On the aft end of the galley there is a lift-top Adler Barbour 12-volt self-draining refrigerator box. The stainless steel sink has Grohe fixtures and a hot & cold pressure fresh water system.

The galley is separated from the V-berth area by a "pantry" locker with cherry louvered door and several shelves. Additional storage is provided by a cabinet with a cherry louvered lift-up door outboard above the galley countertop and by an area under the galley sink that holds the trash bin. There are also three cherry-faced drawers below the countertop in the galley.
HEAD:
The head is located opposite the galley to starboard and includes:
- Varnished cherry vanity with an undermounted porcelain sink.
- Grohe faucet/hand shower provides hot & cold pressure water.
- Vacu-flush electric marine head plumbed to holding tank with Y-valve with holding tank monitor
- 110-volt outlet
- Cherry wood trimmed mirror is mounted on the forward bulkhead.
- Sink faucet pulls out to be used as shower and head includes drain with shower sump pump.
- Storage in the head is provided by cherry-faced lockers above and outboard the countertop and by a drawer with cherry face beside the marine head.
