Introducing REDHEAD, a lovely example of the Hinckley Bermuda 40. The B-40 is a legendary American racer‑cruiser sailboat designed by William H. Tripp Jr. and built by Henry R. Hinckley & Co. (Hinckley Yachts) in Southwest Harbor, Maine. The B-40 was first launched in 1960 and produced from 1959 to 1991, with 203 examples built across Mark I, II, and III variants. Redhead is a 1974 Mark III design and has enjoyed numerous upgrades over the years and has always been professionally maintained. She is currently on her mooring in Harpswell Maine ready for new adventures.
Accommodations
Redhead sleeps six in two cabins with a separate head and galley. A private owner's stateroom is the forward cabin with a 6'8" vee berth. Forward of the vee berth is access to the forepeak via varnished, vented mahogany doors. Varnished mahogany cabinetry throughout includes 2 hanging lockers, dresser set and mahogany ceiling boards. There is varnished mahogany shelf storage above and outboard the berths. Next aft on port is an enclosed head with shower. Across to starboard, in the main cabin, is a hanging locker with shelf storage above and outboard. Next aft is a 6'6" pullout settee/transom berth with a pilot berth above and outboard. The main bulkhead across to port has a Force 10 cabin heater and varnished mahogany book shelves. The port side pull out settee/transom berth is 6'3" and there is also a pilot berth of the same length above and outboard. The dining table is center line with a drop leaf table that seats six comfortably. It has a bulkhead stored extension, two built in silverware drawers and removable fiddles. Next aft is the galley and companionway access to the cockpit.
