This classic Hatteras 42 Convertible is designed with the saltwater fisherman in mind. She is outfitted for a southern California six-pack charter, starting with two bait tanks that can take up to 14 scoops of bait that will give you the edge over every boat in this class. The boat also is equipped with fully functioning Carolina Outriggers and is plumbed for a third bow bait tank.
The Hatteras 42 Convertible has a full-width flybridge and a bold and aggressive stance. Her large 110-square-foot cockpit could easily accommodate a mounted chair. The floorplan is a two-stateroom arrangement with the galley down and a wide-open salon. A stall shower is fitted in the double-entry head, and teak paneling and cabinets are applied throughout. A heavily built boat with a comfortable ride, the Hatteras 42 Convertible will cruise around 15 knots. Top speed is around 20 knots.
Repowered in 2010, the port engine was replaced and the starboard engine went through a major overhaul.
The owner spent over $15,000 on new electronics that include:
- Furuno Doppler Radar
- Furuno 16" Multi Touch TZ Touch 3 MFD
- Simrad Auto Pilot with a new pump on new hydraulic lines
- Furuno B275LHW-12P Transducer
- Icom VHF/AIS Rec N2k Front Mic radio
- Shakespear 8'VHF Antennas (2)
- Other new items include:
- Canvas on the bimini top
- Infiniti woven vinyl marine flooring in the salon
- Support deck in the salon
- Hatches
- Cockpit sliding glass door
- Windows
- The couch in the salon that pulls out to a full bed and also contains storage for blankets and fishing gear
- Bait tank on the starboard side of the boat for an additional 4 scoops of bait
- Starboard around gunnel rail for extra support
- Non-skid deck
- Fuel gauges with sight glass
- Two new closed-cell 8D batteries (1 battery for the generator and 2 for the house / engines)
- Bottom paint - August 2021
