A modern classic, our bristol Grand Banks 32 Sedan 'Distant Star' is one of the most popular small trawler designs ever produced.

Powered with a single 6-cylinder 135HP Lehman diesel with NEW aluminum fuel tanks (April 2013), owners report long hours of 7-knot cruising at 2 gallons per hour and an extensive range. A full-length skeg protects the underwater gear, and hard aft chines help to stabilize the ride.

'Distant Star's straight forward and practical cabin layout is compact, very efficiently arranged and will satisfy the basic requirements of the average cruising couple. Storage is adequate, the teak woodwork is elegant, and visibility from the lower helm is very good. The aft deck is large enough for a couple of deck chairs, and wide side decks provide good foredeck access.

'Distant Star'  has been updated throughout, impeccably maintained as presented and is a beautiful example of classic vessel in bristol condition. The owners are moving up to a larger vessel and are looking for an offer.

Pros

Classic Design: The 32 Sedan features timeless teak wood interiors and a distinctive, traditional profile that appeals to those who appreciate vintage aesthetics.

Solid Construction: Known for robust build quality, the Grand Banks 32 Sedan is built with a sturdy hull and high-quality materials, ensuring durability and seaworthiness.

Comfortable Layout: The spacious salon and well-appointed interior provide a comfortable living space for extended cruising, including a fully equipped galley and a cozy forward stateroom.

Efficient Pilothouse: The raised pilothouse offers excellent visibility and protection from the elements, enhancing safety and ease of navigation.

Fuel Efficiency: Powered typically by reliable diesel engines, the 32 Sedan offers economical cruising speeds suitable for long-range voyages.

Good Resale Value: Due to its reputation and build quality, the Grand Banks 32 Sedan tends to retain its value well.

Cons

Maintenance Intensive: The extensive use of teak wood and traditional fittings can require regular upkeep and maintenance to keep the vessel in top condition.

Limited Speed: Designed as a trawler, the 32 Sedan is not built for speed and may feel slow compared to more modern or performance-oriented boats.

Smaller Size: At 32 feet, space can be somewhat limited for larger crews or those seeking more expansive accommodations.

Aging Systems: Being a 1987 model, some onboard systems and equipment may be outdated and could require upgrades or replacements.

Limited Headroom: While comfortable, the interior headroom may feel restrictive for taller individuals compared to newer models with more modern design standards.
