38 Etap Sailing Vessel 1997

This 1997 38' I Etap Sloop is a rare find here in the United States and now available for purchase, located and stored on the hard in Indiantown. This second owner has taken excellent care of her while sailing her throughout Spain's waters, then had her shipped to the Virgin Islands, where they sailed her around the islands, and then shipped her again to South Florida, where she is now being given a new title for her new captain. The flush forward deck is wide open for lounging, and her walk-around side decks were made wide for safe passage. She has very long cockpit settees for sleeping or lounging.

Pros

Unsinkable Design: The Etap 38i features a unique double hull construction that enhances buoyancy and safety, making it virtually unsinkable in the event of a breach.

Good Performance: With its well-balanced sail plan and hull shape, the Etap 38i offers excellent sailing performance, both in light winds and heavier conditions.

Spacious Interior: The layout of the interior is designed for comfort, providing ample space for living quarters. It features a comfortable saloon, well-appointed galley, and good storage options.

Quality Craftsmanship: Etap Yachting is known for its high-quality construction and attention to detail, which contributes to the boat's durability and longevity.

Stability: The heavy ballast and wide beam contribute to stability while under sail, giving sailors confidence in various sea conditions.

Easy Maintenance: The materials used in the construction of the Etap 38i are resistant to rot and corrosion, requiring less maintenance compared to traditional wood or metal boats.

Cons

Weight: While the heavy construction adds to stability, it can make the boat slightly slower and less maneuverable in tight spaces compared to lighter vessels.

Older Model: Being a 1997 model, some features may be dated, and upgrades or replacements might be necessary to meet modern standards or preferences.

Limited Ocean Capabilities: While suitable for coastal cruising and light offshore use, some sailors may find its capabilities limited for serious ocean passages compared to larger or more heavily built vessels.

Market Availability: Depending on your location, finding a used Etap 38i in good condition may take some time due to their relatively limited market presence.

Cost of Ownership: The costs associated with upkeep and insurance may be higher due to the specialized nature of parts and repair practices for unique features.
