1979 Ericson Independence cutter rig sail boat for sale. Bruce King designed for himself rare only 69 made.

Currently located in a terrific do-it-yourself boat yard near Boca Grande, FL. Stay on the boat in a very nice boatyard while you finish the work. Showers, large community room with tv, cooking facilities, laundry, professional experts, lots of fun sailors from around the world.

Many projects are completed, some projects need completion. I did the big-ticket projects, you will finish things up quite easily. Bruce King made these to be better built than most Ericson boats. The Teak interior wood has been restored professionally. Lots of new items too many to list, new electric panels, new alcohol Dometic gimbal stove, new Engel fridge/freezer, new never used composting toilet, bottom job done and sanded all ready for ablative paint.

Dependable 2QM 15hp Yanmar diesel runs nicely.

Ericson 31 is a very comfortable and safe blue water cruising sailboat with lots of character and she turns heads.

More than 6 headroom, good capable long-distance cruiser. Deck is solid. Chainplates solid. Wheel or tiller steering with custom built wind vane. Harken roller furler. New fuel tank. New through hulls. Plumbing is done and water tanks cleaned and empty.

Selling due to not having the time to compete repairs and I live quite some distance away. She really needs to be out sailing.

Mast is professionally painted with Awlgrip with all new standing and running rigging. All new LED mast lights and fittings.

Still some projects left like refinish floor and ceiling, some wiring, paint upper deck, toe rails. Lots of parts and pieces too many to list.

Thanks for looking.
