Recent Maintenance
Major IPS Drive Service
Both port and starboard IPS drives were removed, disassembled and inspected. Service included replacement of prop-shaft and lip seals, O-rings and associated seals; shaft polishing; pressure testing; reinstallation; fresh synthetic gear oil and filters; new anodes, exhaust zinc kits, line cutters and diffuser collars. Propellers were removed and associated shafts and hardware cleaned, inspected and lubricated, followed by IPS alignment.
Major Engine Cooling-System Service
Extensive cooling-system service included the raw-water systems, heat exchangers, oil coolers, fuel coolers and transmission coolers. Serviceable coolers were acid-cleaned, resealed, reassembled and pressure-tested. Both charge-air coolers were serviced with replacement inner cooler inserts, new seals, pressure testing and reinstallation. Twin raw-water pumps and both fuel coolers were replaced along with associated hoses, sealing rings and hardware. Belt tensioners and idler pulleys were also replaced.
Comprehensive Engine & IPS Service
Engine service included engine oil and filters, fuel filters, air filters, crankcase ventilation filters and engine zinc anodes. Volvo Penta software updates, diagnostics and programming were also performed, including VODIA diagnostics and system calibration.
Laboratory Oil Analysis
Post-service Volvo Penta laboratory oil analysis was performed on the engines and IPS drives in September 2025 and July 2026. Reports show NORMAL sample status and, where stated, normal component wear rates with no corrective action recommended.
