42 Bristol Trawler
1966 was a very good year for the trawler world. Clint Pearson and his cousin founded the Bristol Yacht Company that year.
Starting off running was a Carl Alberg design in the form of the Bristol 27 that gave them a taste of real experience and instant success. A succession of great boats followed from designers like Carl Alberg, Halsey Hershoff, Ted Hood, and Dieter Empacher.
The Bristol 42 Offshore has the sturdy, seaworthy look of a traditional trawler with its high sides, big bow and deck house. Many boats have awkward access to the flybridge because of the tall ladder you have to climb that is placed in a tight area. This all changes with the Bristol 42 since it has the aft cabin that shortens the climb and divides it.
Almost anywhere on the boat you can move with ease, from the deck area that extends all around the pilothouse, which also makes line handling a breeze, to the easy use of the swim platform. Doors are on both sides of the vessel so you can get to the lower helm quickly while handling dock lines when single handing. Theres seating on the flybridge and on the aft cabin top.
