Gazelle is a perfect name for this Bristol condition Oceanis 50, as she is sleek, fast, modern, and infinitely comfortable. With all lines rigged back to the cockpit, roller furling on both sails, and bow thrusters, she is easy to single hand and effortless to maneuver in close quarters.

Designed by Berret Racoupeau, the bow is near plumb, with a massive sail locker just aft of the anchor windlass, accessible through a deck hatchway, and the low-profile deckhouse is equipped with a luxurious sunbathing pad. The mast is "bridge friendly" for the Intracoastal Waterway at 63' 6", with a whopping working sail area of over 1,100 square feet.

The focal point for the Oceanis 50 is the sweeping fixed arch just forward of the cockpit, which provides a solid framework for a dodger and a bimini, as well as a fixed point for the mainsheet block and tackle that's rigged at the end of the boom and ultimately led aft to the cockpit for easy handling.

The cockpit, with its no-track teak floor, can easily accommodate a crowd for cocktails, leaving plenty of room to move about. The spacious cockpit table has bottle storage and folding leaves.

The well-insulated engine room lies under the bridge deck and companionway, with excellent access from the front, under the stairs; back, through a large panel door; and on the starboard side.

Italy's Nauta Design provided for plenty of interior light and ventilation via a plethora of portholes and hatches, and the moisture and warp resistant Alpi Mahogany lends a very modern and sleek look highlighted by LED lighting. The fully equipped galley is sure to delight the on-board chef, with plenty of storage, near centerline double sink, three-burner propane stove, oven, and microwave.

This double-cabin version provides two ultra-luxurious and spacious sleeping accommodations, affording privacy to your guests as well as yourself while lounging below. The stern owner's cabin has 6' 6" headroom to deck beam, a padded headboard on the 6'7" x 5'3" bed, and plenty of storage with hanging lockers, cupboard, shelves, dressing table, and open lockers. It has direct access to the aft starboard head. The spacious forward cabin contains a 6'7" x 5'5" center island bed, dressing table, storage lockers, and private bath with separate shower.

But when Gazelle is in her true glory is underway. Designed for blue water sailing, she has the ability to slice through seas, due to the sharp angle of entry at the bow. Designed to sail level enough that the gear below doesn't go flying about, there is excellent visibility from the port and starboard helms. And with the "pushbutton sailing" of the electric winches, a helmsman of any experience level can make it look easy!
