The Gran Turismo 36 sets the tone with an elegant and sporty hardtop. Her hull has zipwakes for improved stability when turning and her deck plan provides specific living spaces for use throughout the day. A large built-in sun mattress on the foredeck offers a unique sunbathing space. While the stern's hardtop complete with sliding roof combines protection and the joy of the open air. The spacious cockpit lounge area has room for up to 8 guests. Aft, a large sunbathing area faces the sea, opposite an outdoor galley. The driving station has two bench seats facing the sea, so four people can enjoy the thrills of navigation.

Manufactured in Cadillac, Michigan, the GT36 is built from inception to accommodate either stern drives or outboard engines, with distinct hull molds tailored to each propulsion type. This approach ensures uncompromised operational characteristics regardless of power selection. The boat features a beam carried far forward, creating a narrow entry below the waterline that contributes to excellent handling.
Exterior Design and Deck Layout
The GT36’s exterior design emphasizes both functionality and safety. The hull design includes a 12-inch transom extension for outboard models, maintaining optimal performance. Side decks provide secure passage with angled rails standing 24 inches high and a 12-inch gap from the cabin sides, complemented by overhead grab handles and molded cabin top rails for added security. The bow features a squared-off design with extended beam, split rails for bow and boarding access, and a forward seating area. The anchor system includes a recessed anchor roller, a gas-strut assisted hatch, and a Lumar windlass with 100 feet of chain and 150 feet of rope stored in the anchor locker. High-mounted 11-inch cleats on the transom and bow enhance docking convenience.

The boat planes quickly in 4.9 seconds and maintains planing down to 11.5 mph. Acceleration times include 8.4 seconds to 20 mph and 22.5 seconds to 30 mph. Handling is characterized by a stable, balanced feel with good water adhesion in turns, moderate lean, and a clean hull slicing through waves. Engine trim adjustments are necessary to optimize spray pattern and prevent prop ventilation due to the engines’ aft placement and balanced weight distribution.
