Exterior Design and Hull Features
One of the most notable aspects of the Barracuda 9 is its airstep hull, which differs significantly from traditional stepped hulls. Instead of drawing air from the sides, the airstep system intakes air from above the hull through cabin side intakes, channeling it underneath via dual two-inch ducts to the low-drag running surface. This design enhances handling and fuel efficiency. The hull profile includes multiple lifting strakes leading to a hard reverse chine, contributing to stability and performance. At the stern, the engine well is positioned eight inches above the keel and extends six and a quarter inches outward.
