This Beneteau Oceanis 461 model is the perfect cruising sailboat. Her long hull, designed by Bruce Farr has very impressive speed while giving that quiet, powerful sensation only felt on board true offshore cruising yachts. Her sail plan is efficient with a masthead furling genoa (drum on deck) for the necessary power for great sailing, that is safe and fun!. The furling mainsail makes it easy facilitating both furling and sail reduction when necessary. The deck layout is efficient, and makes her easy to sail short handed. The overall design give sailors confidence with safety on deck. She has a clean deck layout with the electric windlass half recessed into the anchor well, large sunbathing area forward, uncluttered side decks with chainplates centered against the coach roof.
One of my favorite features is the cockpit is easily accessible from dinghy or dock with the walk thru transom which is also good fun swimming off the stern. The wheel steering position has a full console, to which a large cockpit table with hinged flaps and storage. The Oceanis 461 has beautiful salon area. There are 7 opening deck hatches and 12 opening portholes. The galley has numerous baskets and lockers, a fridge - freezer in two compartments, and plenty of counter space.
