Summary
Whether her next chapter is club racing, coastal cruising, or a season chasing warm water, this 44.7 represents a well-sorted, offshore-capable platform from one of the most respected names in production sailboats. Full specifications, equipment list, and a complete history are available on request.
Hull & Construction

Neverly is built on a solid fiberglass hull with a structural fiberglass pan bonded 360 degrees to the hull and deck — a construction approach that gives her exceptional rigidity, a quiet ride, and long-term durability well suited to serious offshore use. Her deck and superstructure use a cored fiberglass sandwich construction, shaving weight aloft without sacrificing strength, which translates directly into livelier performance and a stiffer, more stable platform underway. This is the kind of build quality that has made Beneteau's First series a benchmark among production performance cruisers, and it's exactly why these hulls have such a strong reputation for holding their value and standing up to years of hard sailing. For a buyer looking for a boat that's as capable offshore as she is comfortable at the dock, this is a hull worth trusting.

The main salon centers on a U-shaped settee to starboard with a bar built into the seat back, balanced by a second settee to port, all finished in warm beechwood joinery with teak plywood soles underfoot. A proper navigation station with varnished chart table sits aft to port, opposite a full galley with double stainless sinks, pressurized hot and cold water, and a gimbaled two-burner stove with oven. A second head with shower serves the aft cabins, rounding out a layout built as much for real cruising as for coastal weekending.

Beneteau 44: BoatTEST Review

Reviewed by Jeff Hammond

Boat Test Review on BoatTest.com

Overview

The Beneteau GT44 is positioned in the middle of the GT line, striking a balance between the sporty styling of the GT38 and the spacious layout of the GT49. This express cruiser offers a harmonious blend of design, comfort, and functionality, making it suitable for both entertaining and extended cruising.

Exterior Design and Cockpit

The GT44 features a generously sized cockpit that serves as the primary entertainment space, accommodating dining, lounging, and relaxation. A sturdy teak trifold table allows comfortable seating for at least six people, with ample room to move without disturbing the table setting. Under-seat storage is well finished and spacious, though access is somewhat limited. The exterior upholstery uses textured, double-stitched vinyl that is UV protected and designed for durability and ease of cleaning. The cockpit benefits from 6 feet 4 inches of headroom beneath the hardtop, complemented by large side windows and a retractable sunroof that flood the area with natural light. When not dining, the table folds away to reveal a large sun pad. The tropical wood Oroko swim platform measures 38 by 146 inches, providing ample space for relaxation even with the removable grill installed. Dedicated storage compartments house the grill, swim ladder, and life vests. A compact wet bar includes a sink, glassware space, and a trash spot, with an option to replace stemware storage with a cockpit refrigerator. The companionway door and sliding panel are made of tinted glass, enhancing natural light flow into the cabin.

Interior Living Spaces

Inside, the port side galley presents a clean, modern design with refrigerator and freezer fronts finished in precisely cut albie walnut veneer. Despite having only one port light, the galley is well illuminated by overhead LEDs and a large overhead window. Storage is ample, with upper cabinets for general storage and a microwave, and lower compartments for cookware, trash, and dinnerware. The white DecoTec resin countertops are durable and feature a distinctive glass countertop that visually separates the galley from the salon. The starboard side settee serves as the indoor dining area, with a manually adjustable solid walnut table seating four to five people. The seating is upholstered in optional woodpecker-colored ultra leather, with a wide range of upholstery options available. Ivory synthetic fabric with a wool-like texture covers the salon walls, adding depth to the space. A skylight enhances natural light over the settee, and walnut cabinetry provides dedicated storage for wine glasses, books, and other items, along with a port light for ventilation.

Private Accommodations

The GT44 includes two heads and two staterooms. The forward head offers generous standing room—six feet seven inches in the head and six feet four inches in the shower—and features storage above and below a port light, a fresh water flush electric toilet, a large shower with smoked glass doors, a frosted skylight, and a natural wood Oroko shower floor. The bowl-shaped sink maximizes storage beneath, and vanity lighting ensures adequate illumination. The forward stateroom boasts an island berth flanked by closets on both sides, with thoughtful details such as a synthetic fiber lounger cushion filling otherwise wasted space, microfiber bed framing, ocean air blinds for light control, and walnut valances that create a cozy atmosphere. Accessed by two steps down from the salon, the stateroom floor and steps are carpeted in white, contributing to a quiet ambiance. The full-beam aft stateroom integrates the design elements of the GT44 with good headroom, elegant alpy wood-finished doors and furniture, and abundant windows. Storage includes three deep chests on the starboard side and a unique shoe cupboard beneath a bench seat. A full-length lounger on the port side offers additional comfort. Ocean air fabrics are used for bedding and blinds, with multiple pattern options. The aft stateroom is trimmed in soft white leather, complementing the overall design. Its en suite head mirrors the forward head’s features, with white lacquered cabinets, walnut-finished doors, a white bowl-shaped sink, smoked shower doors, and a fresh water electric toilet, all within six feet four inches of headroom.

Conclusion

Beneteau’s design team has successfully combined style, comfort, and practicality in the GT44, creating a cruiser that is inviting both on deck and below. The thoughtful use of space, quality materials, and attention to detail result in a vessel well-suited for entertaining and comfortable extended cruising.
