The galley also contains a four burner electric stove top, with microwave/convection oven underneath. A unique wine storage area under the fridge keeps your white wine cooled. Corian counter tops, deep double sink, built in storage for china, glasses and spices mean convenience. Opening ports and hatch provide ventilation.
Move up two steps, storage behind each step, to the raised deck salon, with L-shaped settee and drop leaf table to port which can be raised to bar height or lowered to coffee table height. This unique table allows for seating, then slides diagonally in and can accommodate six to eight for dinner. Explorer was re-powered in 1996 with a 135 hp John Deere turbo diesel that now has 1000 hours.
Electric power is supplied by a 12.5kw, 220 volt Westerbeke diesel generator, a 70 amp main engine driven 32v alternator, two 40 amp 12v alternators, and a new 2500 watt Heart Inverter/Charger. In the hallway to starboard is the Laundry Room with storage cabinets under, and a cedar-lined owner's hanging locker.
The aft owners' cabin includes an in-suite bath and separate shower, and a separate, private entrance onto the aft deck. Built-in cabinets chests and under the bed access provide ample storage. A handy bedside switch connects to the mizzen spreader lights to provide additional security lighting. Separate thermostat and A/C provide comfort.

Heavily built in solid fiberglass with hull thicknesses up to 2". In 16 to 30 knots of wind, or when powering at 1600 rpm, she cruises easily at 8 knots.
