Boat Features

The Cobalt R35 is the flagship bowrider of Cobalt's lineup, reintroduced for the 2024 model year and offered in outboard, sterndrive, and Coupe configurations. It measures 35 feet 4 inches overall with a 10-foot 10-inch beam, which opens up roughly 9 feet of space from couch wall to couch wall in the cockpit. Fuel capacity is 165 gallons, with a 25-gallon freshwater tank and a 20-gallon waste tank. A surf model is also available for those who want to put a wake behind the boat. Shoppers looking at an R35 for sale will find a large bowrider built for day cruising, entertaining, and overnighting.

Power is a matter of choice. The outboard R35 accepts Mercury or Yamaha packages ranging from twin 300s up to triple 300s, with options extending to twin 600s; one common setup runs triple Mercury 350 V10 Verados, and the Coupe is shown with triple Mercury Verados as well. The sterndrive version is powered by twin 430-horsepower Volvo V8s. Every multi-engine R35 includes joystick control alongside the standard binnacle, allowing the boat to spin on its axis for docking or holding position. The outboard models add a reversal flush system that lets you connect a garden hose and flush all engines at once at the end of the day.

The helm centers on Cobalt's glass cockpit with dual 12-inch Garmin touchscreens that handle chartplotting, engine readouts, lighting, and navigation. A Gussi Italia leather-wrapped tilt wheel, billet switches, push-button LED controls, and trim tab controls round out the dash, and a passenger-side helm watch gives the co-captain access to waypoints, stereo, and engine parameters. The Coupe can be equipped with Garmin radar and FLIR night vision for coastal running, plus two-speed wipers. Audio comes from a Harman Kardon system; the Coupe runs a 4,000-watt setup acoustically tuned to the model, and the boat carries up to five phone chargers along with USB-A and USB-C outlets.

Cockpit layout solves the usual trade-off between seating and a galley by giving you both. An L-shaped starboard lounge converts at the push of a button into a deployable galley with a sink, microwave, and either a grill or a Kenyon electric cooktop, held in place by three friction hinges and a removable heat shield. Across on the port side, a compartment houses an Isotherm refrigerator or freezer that ranges from 50 degrees down to zero. There's an oversized teak table available with black or gray bond lines, a 19-gallon trash receptacle, and storage throughout, including deep in-floor lockers held up by struts with stainless hardware. The starboard hull-entry door, first seen on the R33, makes dockside boarding easy.

Below deck, the R35 has two enclosed spaces. The starboard side cabin holds a full-beam queen berth on gel memory foam that sleeps about two degrees cooler, a 22-inch smart TV with HDMI inputs, reading lights, air conditioning, and heat, with standing headroom for a six-foot adult. The port-side head is large for a bowrider, with a VacuFlush system, solid-surface countertops, teak accents, and a pull-out faucet that doubles as a shower. Upholstery is double-needled and diamond-quilted in-house, with darker colors offered in Fresco Chill vinyl that runs 15 to 20 degrees cooler to the touch.

At the transom, the R35 offers a wide swim platform with a flip-down swim step and an optional hydraulic lift, a transom shower, and a starboard dive door. The aft bench flips to form a sun pad, and rumble seats with cup holders and a wireless charger fold out at the platform. A Splash and Stow system inflates and stows a yacht-style mat with the push of a button. Overhead, the hardtop adds a powered sun awning that rolls out aft, plus bow and aft shade sails; the Coupe adds a powered sunroof and a fixed magnet-held skylight. A windlass with a Lumar remote handles the stainless anchor up front, and the engine compartment is rigged with labeled batteries, accessible through-hull valves, and a mounted auto fire extinguisher.
